Hand Embroidery

Throughout the past 2 weeks I've been doing hand embroidery, which ive really enjoyed, although its more time consuming I feel its more delicate which reflects the way I like to work. I feel that in these past 2 weeks I have developed my samples by getting to be more familiar with what techniques I enjoy using, and have learnt how to compose and incorporate my drawings into my work.

In relation to my lightbulb drawing, I slightly used that colour scheme to add to my samples, using graduated & yellow threads. Similarly to my machine samples, I am still working in a minimal and linear style. I have especially enjoyed using french knots and ladder stitch in hand embroidery.

To further develop my samples im going to move forward with these two stitching techniques, and refer to more mark makings and linear drawings in my sketch book to develop shape.
