This week I really enjoyed conducting research for Unit X in
Blackpool. I thrived on this location as it was full of colour, shape and
excitement and gave me lots of inspiration for the upcoming unit.
The calmness of the park that day allowed me to pay more attention
to the detail on each design and structure of different rides and
rollercoasters.
I think I benefitted from being shown a range of attractions that
day; costumes, the park, and the archive, as it helped me to narrow down my
research slightly. I was really fascinated by the structures of the rides, as
well as the colour schemes and shapes. I also enjoyed looking at the detail on the rollercoaster models in the archive. I hope to look into this area
further within this unit and develop practial work accordingly.
