The key new discovery I made
with this unit was to digitally edit in different styles on Photoshop. Previous
workshops helped me learn basic knowledge, yet future forecasting has encouraged me to push this, furthermore I gained insight into InDesign. This unit
has resulted in me seeing work in a more professional manner: using WGSN showed me
how crucial future trends are for companies, as well as competitors &
consumers. Lastly pitching our ideas to companies & a wide audience of
peers has given me more confidence when speaking and presenting.

Engaging throughout the unit, workshop activities gave me more experience on adobe, and we used drop in sessions with Alex to learn how to edit colours on interiors for Crown Paint.
The most time consuming element
of our project was the photo shoot for Rianna Phillips SS16. As we used paint
for props we should have prepared a few days ahead so it was less messy,
furthermore we could have improved on better lighting & backdrops when
photographing.
My personal improvements in this
project would be to improve on the neatness of my work when using the magnetic
tool on Photoshop as I found it hard to neaten up the edges.
SS16 Photoshop Edits
I was motivated to get involved
in future intelligence as I wanted to learn a different aspect of
fashion/textiles as it was heavily digitally based. I have really pushed using
adobe in this project, as I wanted to get more confident with it before I went
back to specialising in knitwear for 3rd year. I took the
opportunity to collaborate within a team and giving me insight into
professionalism. Researching and designing for two different companies helped
my understanding of why competitors, consumers and trends are so crucial.
Overall I have really enjoyed this unit and hope to take what I have learnt
digitally through to 3rd year.
