Knit Designers

After starting to knit on the domestic machines and learning different techniques, it encouraged me to research into current knitted finished products/designs to develop my understanding of how to be creative and innovative with what I was learning.
Researching into knit designers really helped me realise the effect of techniques and how effective they look on garments in comparison to samples.
These images inspired me as I can relate my research to the designs. D&G reflects my colour scheme of the green yellow tones, with the interruptions of lines of cream and black. The garment from china fashion week consists of a circular pattern, which I have been drawing in my sketch book relating to my underground theme. This design encouraged me to replicate the circular shapes to create a decorative fabric, similarly to Margo Selbys pieces that I looked at in weave. After looking at professional knitted designs I feel more confident to experiment with techniques and play around with colour and composition within my samples.
