At first I found I was really struggling translating my ideas into an embroidery aspect. I was really unsure on materials and how to combine techniques. At first I just experimented with cord and the machine but noticed it didn't relate to any of my research.
In a tutorial I then looked back at my weaves and was given ideas into how to translate this through. As mohair was such an important yarn in my weave samples, I am going to also embroider with this yarn and combine with stitch. I enjoy hand stitch more than machinery as I feel it allows me to experiment more, and I also want to create the curvy directional lines in embroidery that I have in my drawings. To achieve this in a 3D aspect I have been experimenting with this technique by using cord and hand stitch. I want to develop this idea further by hand stitching the shape through paper, acetate and card with yarns and embroidery thread.
