This summer I went to Santorini, and felt so inspired by the picturesque island. What excited me was the burst of bright colours composed with white all over the greek island. The images I took encouranged me to look into shape in a repetitive sense. Furthermore the majority of work i produced throughout summer was inspired by this colour scheme - lots of pale/pastel shades.
This image is one of my favourites that I took in
a small village called Thira. What excites me here is the vivid colour, the
honey yellow with the grey contrast really nicely, drawing attention to the
shapes within the steps. The shape and linear elements that I can extract from
the image are elements I can put into practice using textured yarns such as mohair contrasted with shiny viscose.
