Forecasting for the future, our group concept was to create sportswear that can change while its being worn which communicates levels of fitness but is also fashionable.
Over the years sportswear and fitness have become more popular, for example trainers are not just for sports, they are becoming part of peoples everyday style. e.g. Adidas Superstars, Nike Roshe Runs, New Balance etc.

Our idea is to create a garment where that pattern changes & develops, becoming more vibrant the fitter you become. We then developed this idea into how the garment could help you improve your fitness, e.g. when you're running and perhaps start to strain one of your muscles, a red patch on that particular area would form on the garment to warn you. We managed to fix this to every sport, for example ballet, a red line would run down the garment showing your posture, and if you start to go offline it will warn you by moving if you start to go off balance.
In our tutorial Alex gave us a few ideas to think about as the garment can be quite problematic: how would it be washed as its got a lot of technology in it, do parts need to be removed? / needs to be worn a lot to keep up with your level of fitness / could it be made of certain chemicals to prevent it smelling?
Together we thought about how we could resolve this, and also started gathering some research in how we want the garments to look. We were especially inspired by pastel, neon, mesh and metallics.
